Tell us Amanda, what inspired you to start blogging?
My friends and I are always talking about what we’re reading and whether others would like it. It combines three of my favorite things – reading, writing, and talking about books!
What is your favorite YA sub-genre and why?
Oooooh great question! I love dystopian novels – there are so many possibilities for the future, tons of room for creativity. I love seeing different authors’ interpretations of that genre.
Is there a book or series that inspired you to read YA?
I read Harry Potter in high school and it’s still one of my favorites. The book that I credit with getting me back into the YA genre as an adult is The Hunger Games!
“Fangirls Read It First” has an awesome team of reviewers and editors, how did you get together?
Members of my book club, Fangirls Read It First, are always asking each other for reading recommendations or opinions on a certain book or author. It felt like a natural progression to start reviewing. Fun fact: all of our reviewers and editors are book club members!
What book would you like all your blog followers to read and why?
My current love is Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi! It’s the first book in a trilogy and it’s amazing – complex characters plus a creative and twisty storyline!
Would you share with us a unique experience you’ve due to blogging?
Being invited to be apart of this feature, which is so cool! Other than that, I was pretty excited when an author that I love retweeted my review 🙂
Rapid Fire Questions
Coolest swag you ever received?
I got an awesome fan with the book’s cover art on it at a signing!
Most prized signed book copy?
It’s hard to choose! Either Cinder by Marissa Meyer or the Seven Realms quartet by Cinda Williams Chima.
On average, how many books do you read a year?
Best guess, maybe 100, 150?
And this is what we all really want to know: who is your favorite book boyfriend?
Ohmygosh, this might be the hardest question! I think it changes daily haha. So for today, it’s probably Chaol Westfall from Sarah J Maas’s Throne of Glass series.
Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this! =)

What an awesome interview! I’ll definitely have to stop by Amanda’s blog after this. Thank you for the giveaway! 🙂
Thank you for stopping by 🙂
the Shatter Me books looks really interesting
Yeah Amanda! I love this interview! 🙂 What a great shout-out to our blog!!! I’ll have to check out Shatter Me and Ingrid’s books!! 😀
Your blogging team is fantastic!!
The Shatter Me series is one of my all time favorite ones. Gone series by Grant is also a good one. I’m glad the trend has moved somewhat from vampires, it was getting old. I like dystopian books and am happy to see so many out there. I just finished The Living recently.
Those are all excellent! 🙂
Wtg Amanda.
